Please do not contact the store for questions regarding your web orders. Our brick and mortar store is a separate division, and will not be able to assist you.

 

Return Policy

We believe in the products that we personally make and sell. If there is a gross defect in the item that you receive, we will gladly replace it.

You must email us within 24 hours after receipt of your purchase. We will gladly replace the item after you have followed these simple instructions and we have received the defective product within 7 days of your email.

Please be advised that our brick and mortar store locations can not handle your exchange or return requests.
At the same token, we online can not handle your exchange or returns on purchases made at our brick and mortar store locations. Our brick and mortar store locations each have their own individual exchange and return policies, and we can not and will not interfere on your behalf as we are a separate entity.

Merchandise must be returned unused in its original packaging with all original articles intact. If the item returned to us shows obvious wear and tear or is not in the condition that it was originally shipped, then your return will be denied. We are not responsible for any extra shipping fees that you may incur in returning or exchanging your merchandise.

We do not issue refunds for shipping fees unless the items that you received were not items on your invoice. Changing your mind about an item or an order you placed after you receive it is your prerogative and we are not responsible for shipping charges if you do so.

Please call or e-mail for authorization. We do not reimburse you for shipping fees and some items are subject to a 15% stocking fee.

How To Return or Exchange Your Orders

After you have emailed us regarding your exchange or return, please follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth transaction.
Please include a note with the following information:

1.) Your full name
2.) Address
3.) Phone number
4.) E-mail address
5.) A list of the items you are returning or exchanging (style number, color, size, and quantity, please!
6.) The reason why you are returning them.
7.) What you would like us to do for you (exchange for a different size/color/style, refund your money, etc.).

Be sure to include the style number, size, color, and quantity of what you want if you are asking for an exchange!

If this information is missing, it will delay the processing of your exchange.

For your peace of mind, we recommend insuring your return package and/or requesting a proof of delivery or signature confirmation! We know this costs an extra, but this is the only way that you can be assured that we received your package. If you decide to ship your return without this added precaution, we, and the company you shipped the package with, are not responsible if it is lost or damaged.

*Evil Kitty and Switchblade Stiletto purchases are subject to the Return and Exchange policies specified by the designer.

 

Price Matching

Regular, sale and clearance prices for products on thealleychicago.com may vary from The Alley stores. We do not match the price of our online merchandise with the prices offered by The Alley stores or any other company, and The Alley stores do not match the price of our online merchandise.

 

Site Inventory

Our website accesses both our wholesale warehouse and brick and mortar store’s inventory. We also have some items that are shipped directly by the designer or manufacturer. We are unable to access our inventory count in “real time”, so some items may be backordered or delayed. If for some reason we are sold out of an item, or an item is backordered at the time of your order, we will contact you as soon as feasibly possible. Please note: If you do not provide any contact information, we will automatically backorder your purchase. If the item is not available to be shipped within 10 business days, we will refund your purchase in full.

 

Colors

Please take note that we are not responsible for the way colors of our products appear on your computer!

 

Shipping

We ship using USPS first class mail depending on the location of the recipient. Orders within the Continental USA, usually ship within 7-10 business days after your payment has cleared. We are not liable for the delays caused by the USPS, so please be aware that there may be times that your order may delayed due to the holidays. Some orders may be shipped USPS priority mail, or UPS depending on the item. International shipments, packages shipped to Military Addresses, and shipments to Alaska, Hawaii and overseas may take 3-4 weeks after you payment has cleared to arrive, depending on their destination.

Customs

International Buyers Please Note:

You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you as we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country so you should contact your local customs office for further information before ordering from our website. When you place an order at Thealleychicago.com, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving goods. We cannot and will not mark packages as "gift", "sample", or anything other than "merchandise" on the applicable customs forms nor will we reduce the value of said package to lessen the taxes and duties levied against the recipient. No exceptions will be made to this policy!

Taxes

If you reside within the State of Illinois you will be subject to a 10.25% sales tax. No sales tax for purchases shipped outside Illinois.
