This belt buckle was designed* to depict a pair of Brass knuckles, also sometimes called knuckles, knucks, brass knucks, B-Nux or knuckle dusters, which are weapons used in hand-to-hand combat. Knuckles are pieces of metal, usually despite their name, shaped to fit around the knuckles.

Images of Brass Knuckles have become very popular icons in the last century. It has been used on clothing, accessories, jewelry, and even shoes!
To many it symbolizes "fight" or strength.
